The Challenge

Crime and fear of crime are significant obstacles to our community well-being. We must work to make East Northamptonshire a safer place in which to live, work and visit.

Priorities

To reduce fear of crime and improve the quality of life for the community.

To impact on and reduce the number of young people misusing drugs, alcohol and volatile substances such as glue and lighter fuel.

To seek to improve the identified physical features in the environment as an aid to reducing the fear of crime.

To increase the number of neighbourhood watch schemes in the Eastern Police area.

To work effectively with partnership agencies to develop processes and networks to address racism, homophobia and domestic violence.

To promote and increase the provision of leisure activities to enhance social inclusion.
